Benchmark Assessment: We will identify where you are against best practice in the field of sustainable procurement through an organizational assessment tool. The results will be used to tailor your strategy and help you meet your sustainability objectives.

As a result we will recommend potential efficiency measures, in line with sustainability objectives.

1. Cost Savings
• What is the opportunity to reduce a supplier’s costs through “sustainable projects”? How much may the buyer capture?
2. Risk Mitigation
• To what extent are sustainable initiatives relevant to the goods and services you are purchasing? (there may be a better way to word this one…)
• To which undue and unknown risks is the buyer exposed? (I changed it to a “which” question because I think we should come armed with a catalogue of risks)
3. Product / Service Innovation
• What are the opportunities to enhance / develop competitive advantage through a sustainable supply chain? (e.g., could the supply chain provide the same good, with 100% recycled material with no loss of quality and no increase in price?).
4. Organizational/Corporate Alignment
• How sustainable are your suppliers? Are your suppliers’ initiatives fact or fiction?
• How are your suppliers furthering your sustainable priorities and targets?
